About Dallas

Dallas Brodie is a true Vancouver-Quilchena native, born and bred in this vibrant community. As a mother to twin girls, she proudly raises her children in the neighborhood she holds close to her heart, driven by a deep desire to leave behind a better world for them to thrive in.

Rooted in the Community

Dallas's journey began at Shaughnessy and Quilchena Elementary Schools, paving the way for her graduation from Point Grey Secondary School in 1980. Her early years in Vancouver-Quilchena laid the foundation for a future filled with academic achievement and civic dedication.

A Passion for Politics and Learning

Dallas's fervor for politics led her to achieve a BA in Political Science from the prestigious Princeton University. Her intellectual curiosity then took her to La Sorbonne in Paris before she pursued further studies at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Law.

Legal Advocate and Defender of Youth

Dallas Brodie embarked on her legal career, joining Ladner Downs and later the newly established Vancouver office of Stikeman Elliott. She initially focused on corporate and securities law but soon found her calling as a volunteer at the Willingdon Youth Detention Centre. Inspired by this experience, she founded her own legal aid practice in 1992, dedicated to defending young offenders, a testament to her commitment to justice and community welfare.

A Voice in Broadcasting

Venturing into broadcasting, Dallas earned a Broadcasting Journalism certificate from BCIT and spent seven years in the field, working for prominent media outlets like CBC TV, CKNW radio, and hosting her own radio show at CiTR at UBC called “The Flip Side.” Her show provided a platform to discuss conservative issues that were often absent from university campuses, showcasing her dedication to diverse perspectives.

A Strong Supporter of Israel

Dallas Brodie's unwavering support for the State of Israel led to her selection to participate in the March of the Living in Poland by the Canada Israel Committee. She fearlessly spoke her mind and remained authentic to her viewers, even when her stance was unpopular among CiTR management, highlighting her steadfast commitment to her values.

Returning to Legal Service

After her time in broadcasting, Dallas rekindled her passion for the legal system, becoming an arbitrator at the BC Residential Tenancy branch. She held this esteemed position for a decade before stepping back to focus on her family and raise her two daughters. Dallas remains an active member of two congregations, Second Church of Christ and St. Johns Vancouver, underscoring her commitment to both her spiritual and local communities.

A Fresh Voice for Vancouver-Quilchena

Dallas Brodie previously ran for the Conservative Party of BC in the Vancouver-Quilchena By-Election. As the next MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena, Dallas will bring a fresh perspective to the legislature, grounded in a rich tapestry of experiences in law, broadcasting, and community service. Her dedication to justice, her commitment to conservative values, and her deep roots in Vancouver-Quilchena make her a compelling choice to represent the interests and aspirations of this vibrant constituency.
